resentment, because under the pretence of assisting the Society of Indian students residing in England, the post of superintendent

was established to control its finances. Thereafter this officer

superintended the students movements; even to hold the customary meeting of the Society, it was necessary to obtain his consent

before it could take place. This was told to me personally by a

fellow student who studied in England. Alas! (those not of my

race must be of different mind). Have we citizens yet taken alarm? Is it only towards Indians they take this attitude?

Yet because Irishmen are of one race and one speech with them. they are of different nationality and religion (the Irish are

We Chinese have now long suffered beneath the vicious oppression of the Hongkong Government and will it be said that we can still patiently put up with it, hesitate and not think of

stirring? Alas! The men of today are not like the heroes of

old. Look at Washington, of long ago, or more recently et Sinn Fein and Gandhi (the head of the Indian revolutionary party)

who rescued hundreds of thousands of their fellow country men as

from the depths of the ocean or the heat of the fire and that too

without regret.
